James Dawos Mamit, MP of Mambong Sarawak has been appointed Deputy Tourism Minister in place of Datuk Seri Sulaiman Abdul Rahman Taib who had resigned from the post.




”The appointment takes effect on the date Yang Berhormat (Dr James) takes the Oath of Office and Loyalty as well as the Oath of Secrecy before Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di-Pertuan Agong on Wednesday, Jan 13 at 3pm at Istana Terenggganu, Kuala Lumpur,” the statement said.

Sulaiman, the eldest son of Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, 41, resigned as Deputy Tourism Minister on Dec 14 citing personal reasons following the death of his mother, Puan Sri Laila Taib, about six months earlier.
