Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is expected to announce the departure date of his premiership today. He has already met with the cabinet this morning and with his supporters last night.
In a related event, scores of Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's supporters have gathered outside the Putra World Trade Centre building in Kuala Lumpur to show their support to the PM original power transition to Najib by 2010.
Most political analysts have the opinion that the PM will stick to the original plan (date). Najib just have to stand in the queue for another 2 years.

04:40pm According to MalaysiaKini, the PM not contesting, and to quit in March 2009. Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has decided not to defend his Umno president post and will quit in March next year when the ruling party meets at its annual general assembly. He's the shortest-lived PM and billed as weak and ineffective. Hopefully his replacement can do better.
